Title: Wind Bird: Gift of the Mist
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.
Additional Comments: If you like really beautiful pictures then you should get this book. I like this book because I liked how they both became friends at the end. The part I didn't like was the part when the wind bird got tied up I thought that was unfair. This was a great book don't miss this one

Title: The Last Dragon
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.
Additional Comments: I think this book is very heart-warming and wonderful. It tells about how the last elf reads the prophecy and finds the last dragon (or so he thinks). He used to live with a hunter named Monser, and a woman named Sajra, but he had promised to live with the dragon, and in return, he got all the golden beans he wanted. Food is not that common, so golden beans for staying with the last dragon is a fairly nice deal. He lived with the dragon in the library and discovered one book about dragons. Before that, out of all the books he read, he had never read one about dragons. In the book it said that at the end of every dragon's life, he or she lays an egg. That surprised the little elf a whole lot. The reason the dragon had been so harsh and demanding was because he was laying an egg. After the dragon lays one egg, he flies away so the little dragon does not suffer the sadness of his parent's death. The dragon laid the egg and flew away, and a little dragon popped out of the egg. The little dragon's name was Ebrow because the first thing he said when he popped out of the egg was "Ebrow". The dragon was a handful because he had uncontrollable fire breath. He destroyed just about everything in sight. The elf and the dragon grew up together. The dragon helped the elf, and the elf helped the dragon. They went to find the elf a wife, and his true wife was at the house of orphans. Her name was Robi. On his way to help the orphans, the dragon was shot with arrows, and eventually he died. That was a lot of pain for the little elf. There were no more dragons. There never would be. Ebrow was the last one. Ebrow was the most brave dragon that ever lived. Everyone was sad. The elf got Robi safely to the beach where everyone was headed. Everybody else got there safely too. They called the town "Ebrow" in memory of the brave dragon that got them there. Robi and the elf really liked each other. They both knew it, but neither of them ever said anything. The book ended there, but I'd guess they ended up getting married and having a child. I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend it to anyone who likes an emotional and happy book!

Title: How to Survive in Antarctica
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.
Additional Comments: This book is great because it is about a person going to Antarctica. She found out that there are stations there. One station is held up from the snow. The other station is more like a town by Mount Erbus. After a few months, she heads
back home by boat.

Title: Drita, My Homegirl
Rating: I wish I had read a different book.
Additional Comments: Well, this book is okay but some of it I did not understand because some of the words were not English. This is one of the words I did not get - seshte ne dinjitenetij. I had no clue what it said. I asked my mom and she did not know either. This is a book that I will not read again but maybe you will like the book more than I did.

Title: The Homework Machine
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.

Title: Rescues!
Rating: Okay but not my favorite.
Additional Comments: This book was really sad so it was not a book I would read again. After I read it myself, I read it to my sister, but she thought it was sad, too. The frozen baby was the saddest one, and the baby in the burning house was the second saddest one.

Title: Half-Moon Investigations
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.
Additional Comments: I really liked this book because it is about investigating crime scenes. Half-Moon is the main character, and Red is assumed to be a criminal. Red isn't really a criminal, but everyone thinks he is because he is a criminal's son and a criminal's brother. Half-Moon isn't really his name. He just gets called that because his last name is Moon, and he is short. His real name is Fletcher Moon. He has the same name as his father. He really enjoys being a detective.

Title: What Stinks?
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.
Additional Comments: This is a good book because it tells you lots of things about who and what stinks--like us, plants, and animals. I learned about a dog smelling dog poop to tell if it was their mom. I also learned that children can have a better sense of smelling than adults.

Title: Tales of the Cryptids
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.
Additional Comments: This is a good book about Cryptids around the world and their evidence and pictures. It shows some evidence and proves some cryptids, while it disproves other cryptids. In the back of the book it gives a rating on whether the author thinks that the cryptid is real, not real, leaning towards real, or leaning towards fake.

Title: Tales of the Cryptids
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.
Additional Comments: I liked the part where they thought that they found a body of a lochness monster, but it was a decaying body of a basking shark. It looked like it had a long neck and a head of a plieseosaurus, but they proved that the tissue of the thing was basking shark.

Additional Comments: This book was a very good informational book about rats. It says that rats have made extinct over 40 different species of birds and put hundreds more on the endangered list! It also says rats chew on things to wear down their teeth. If a rat doesn't chew on things, its own teeth will kill it. This was a very good book.

Title: Hattie Big Sky
Rating: Great! Don't miss this one.
Additional Comments: This book is really, really good. I like this book because it's about this girl named Hattie Inez Brooks who gets a letter from her dead uncle who she never really met, but it wasn't sent by her uncle because he died. Instead of him, it was sent by a women named Perilee who was her Uncle Chester's neighbor when he was alive. Later on in this book, Perilee's whole family, except for the two boys, get the disease called influenza. Luckily, only one of them died, but the one who died was their little magpie. But just remember that this book takes a long time to get used to.

Title: The Runaway Princess
Rating: Okay but not my favorite.
Additional Comments: It was cool in some parts, but some were a little far fetched for me. The frogs fighting off the knights was kinda odd. My favorite part was when the princess was trying to convince the guard to let her down somehow. That was funny. If you like fantasies, this is a good book for you. It is well written, but not really for me!
- Aubrey, SDMS
